Mission and Vision

The Marcus M. Wilson Scholarship Fund, a nonprofit organization founded in 2010, to offer scholarships to Roanoke City Public Schools graduating seniors. This scholarship will provide an opportunity for RCPS graduating seniors in our community who need additional financial support to follow their dreams.
The MMWSF views education as an opportunity to participate in a chance for a higher level of education that this scholarship will provide. The youth in our community are our most valuable assets. As a community, we must continue to work together to provide our young people with the proper support and guidance they need to become leaders. We imagine a community that emphasizes the importance of educational accomplishments and ensures positive outcomes to all regardless of economic status.
We will help open doors for each student who has a desire to further their education. The MMWSF promotes and provides financial support to assure the students have the funds they need to be successful. The scholarship contributes to our community by helping young people follow their dreams: the dream to attend a college of their choice without financial obstacles.
